Meet Selena Guerra!

Selena Guerra’s life has been shaped by Jesus Christ, perseverance, leadership, and a lifelong commitment to serving others.

As the daughter of worship evangelists, Selena traveled frequently throughout her childhood, experiencing many different communities and cultures at an early age. Along the way, she also experienced deep tragedy, pain, and loss. At just 12 years old, she lost her father — a life-changing moment that helped shape her resilience, compassion, and determination to help others through difficult seasons of life.

Selena attended Shannon Middle School and graduated from King High School, Class of 1991. She later pursued her passion for music and ministry by attending a Christian college in Columbus, Ohio, where she studied music and graduated in 1998.

For more than 35 years, Selena has faithfully served in ministry and leadership roles including Children’s Director, Program Director, Youth Leader, Drama Director, Elder, and Worship Leader. Leadership and service have always been central to who she is. Beginning at the age of 17, Selena stepped into leadership positions early in life, including management roles in the workplace. Her very first job was at Claire’s Boutique in Sunrise Mall, where she quickly earned the responsibility of becoming a keyholder trusted with opening and closing the store.

Throughout her life, Selena has remained passionate about helping people, strengthening communities, and leading with compassion. She has participated in mission work serving communities in South Africa, Romania, and Mexico.

One of Selena’s greatest honors was serving as Program Director for Healing Tree, a faith-based organization focused on helping individuals who experienced severe trauma, including physical, sexual, mental, spiritual, and ritual abuse. During this time, she became a Certified Trauma Trainer through the International Institute for Abuse Counseling and served in that role for more than five years. Through trainings, workshops, and advocacy, she worked directly with individuals seeking healing, restoration, and hope.

For the past 18 years, Selena has worked in the health insurance industry, serving in multiple leadership positions including Quality Assurance Specialist, Vendor Quality Leader, Plan Sponsor Liaison, New Hire Trainer, and Supervisor. In these roles, she trained, developed, and managed international teams while helping improve organizational performance, communication, and customer advocacy.

Most recently, Selena developed a Health Concierge Team from the ground up — focused on advocacy, education, accountability, and resolving issues quickly and effectively for the people they served. She also helped create policies, procedures, and operational efficiencies to improve accuracy, service, and outcomes.

Through her professional experience, Selena understands the frustration people face when their concerns go unheard or unresolved. Her leadership style is rooted in servant leadership — placing people at the center, leading with transparency, communication, integrity, and strategic problem-solving.

In addition to volunteering and working full-time, Selena became a Life Coach because of her lifelong passion for encouraging and empowering others. In 2019, she launched an online podcast centered around stories of inspiration, hope, and healing. Today, she is the host and creator of “Real Talk for Real Change,” a platform focused on education, community issues, and inspiring positive change in every aspect of life.
